Surfshark price: what each plan costs today and at renewal

Surfshark costs $67.23 paid upfront for the first 27 months of its Starter plan, a monthly equivalent of $2.49 ($67.23 ÷ 27), before tax. After those 27 months it renews automatically at $79.00 a year. Surfshark One also costs $67.23 for the first 27 months but renews at $99.00 a year. One+ costs $121.23 at Surfshark’s default price and renews at $119.00. These USD figures come from Surfshark’s pricing page and renewal table, checked 13 October 2026.

Some figures vary: Surfshark is running an A/B price test, so the 15-month and 1-month prices and the first One+ bill may differ from what you see.

Every Surfshark plan and term

USD quotes checked 13 October 2026, before applicable tax. Currency, campaign and checkout prices can vary. Monthly rates are equivalents of upfront payments. How pricing works.

The “2-year” plan is 24 months plus 3 extra months, so the first renewal arrives after 27 months, not 24. Surfshark’s renewal table lists Starter’s as “2-year $79.00 (renews for 1-year term)”: after the first term, every long plan renews one year at a time. Rows marked “Default price” show Surfshark’s default price group, explained next.

Which Surfshark prices are fixed and which are tested

Surfshark’s billing page says it “reserves the right to conduct A/B price testing”, and a test was running during our 13 October 2026 check. Each browser is assigned a price group, and the fresh US sessions used for the check landed in two test groups, not the default one.

The same in every group checked:

• Starter and One for 27 months: $67.23.
• Renewals for the 27- and 15-month plans: $79.00 (Starter), $99.00 (One) and $119.00 (One+) a year.

Different between groups:

• 15 months: Starter and One cost $50.85 at the default price or $44.85 in both test groups; One+ costs $112.35 or $104.85.
• One+ for 27 months: $121.23 at the default price and in one test group, $107.73 in the other.
• 1 month: Starter $16.45, $17.45 or $18.95; One $18.95 or $19.95; One+ $21.85 or $22.85. In a test group, a monthly plan renews at that group’s own monthly price.

The struck-through “old price” and the “Save” percentage change between groups too, so compare the amount charged, not the badge. The renewal table shows only the default group, and Surfshark notes that “The displayed renewal prices may be subject to Testing.”

What each plan costs at renewal

Divide each yearly renewal by 12 for its monthly equivalent ($79.00 ÷ 12 = $6.58).

• Starter: $67.23 for 27 months, then $79.00 a year ($6.58 a month equivalent). Keeping it 39 months costs $67.23 + $79.00 = $146.23.
• One: $67.23 for 27 months, then $99.00 a year ($8.25 a month equivalent). 39 months cost $166.23.
• One+: $121.23 for 27 months at the default price, then $119.00 a year ($9.92 a month equivalent). 39 months cost $240.23, or $226.73 at the $107.73 test price.

Surfshark’s billing page says “All subscription plans renew automatically at the full price” and that a renewal email goes out 30 days before, except on 1-month plans. Starter vs One vs One+: what the extra money buys

Every plan covers unlimited simultaneous devices. The plans differ in extra services, according to Surfshark’s pricing page and plan-options article:

• Starter: the VPN, with CleanWeb (ad and cookie pop-up blocker), Bypasser split tunneling, Rotating IP and Dynamic MultiHop, plus Alternative ID, a masked email and personal-detail generator.
• One: Starter plus Scam protection (scam text protection, an email scam checker and a web content blocker; scam call protection is “Coming soon”), Antivirus, Alert and Search. The pricing page’s plan cards omit Search, but the renewal table and support article list it.
• One+: One plus identity theft coverage up to $1M for US residents outside New York State, and Incogni data removal for residents of the US, UK, EU, Switzerland and Canada.

On 13 October 2026, One cost the same as Starter for the first 27 months, and the pricing page labeled the One card “Black Friday deal”. No terms or end date were published, so we can’t say how long that lasts. The gap appears at renewal: One costs $20.00 a year more ($99.00 − $79.00). If you would use Antivirus or Alert, One adds nothing to the first bill; if you only want the VPN, Starter keeps the renewal lower.

One+ costs $54.00 more than Starter upfront at the default price ($121.23 − $67.23), or $40.50 more at the test price, and renews $40.00 a year higher.

Add-ons, tax and payment methods

Dedicated IP: Surfshark sells it “From $3.75 /mo”; the renewal table lists $3.75 a month or $45.00 a year ($45.00 ÷ 12 = $3.75). It’s an add-on bought in the account dashboard on top of an active subscription, one per account and not part of any bundle. Surfshark says add-on renewal is “calculated based on the renewal duration of your latest subscription”. The first charge, and whether it’s prorated, isn’t documented. The anonymous dedicated IP option is non-refundable under the terms of service.

Sales tax: every price here is before tax. Surfshark adds tax for your location at purchase and taxes renewals at the rate on the charge date. A New York checkout on 13 October 2026 added 8.875%, or $5.97, and read: “You’ll be charged $73.20 today for a 27-month subscription.” Your rate depends on where you live.

Payment methods: Surfshark lists credit and debit cards, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay and cryptocurrency (not on mobile devices), with other methods varying by region. The US checkout offered all five. US buyers are billed in USD; a card can be charged in its issuing country’s currency.

The cheapest term for how long you need it

At Starter’s default prices, with test prices in parentheses:

• A few days: the 7-day website trial charges $0.00 if you turn off auto-renewal before day 7. It’s limited to 3 devices.
• One to three months: monthly billing. Three months at $16.45 cost $49.35, under the 15-month plan’s $50.85; a fourth brings it to $65.80. At the test prices, monthly wins for only two months: 2 × $17.45 = $34.90 or 2 × $18.95 = $37.90, against $44.85.
• Four to 15 months: the 15-month plan at $50.85 ($44.85), with renewal turned off. The 27-month plan costs only $16.38 more ($67.23 − $50.85), or $22.38 at the test price, for 12 more months.
• 16 to 27 months: the 27-month plan. Covering 27 months with the 15-month plan costs $50.85 + $79.00 = $129.85, or $62.62 more, because its renewal buys a whole year.
• Beyond 27 months: Starter keeps the lowest renewal, $79.00 a year.
