The current NordVPN offer, explained

NordVPN Basic costs $94.23 paid upfront for the first 27 months, sold as a 2-year plan with 3 extra months. No coupon code is needed for that price. When the quote was checked on 13 October 2026, it appeared with no campaign or coupon code applied, and it matched NordVPN’s US checkout and pricing data. The advertised $3.49 is a monthly equivalent: $94.23 ÷ 27 = $3.49. NordVPN collects the whole $94.23 at checkout rather than $3.49 each month.

The discount belongs to the first term. After 27 months, Basic renews at $139.08 for each further year, before tax, or $11.59 a month ($139.08 ÷ 12). Keep the subscription through one renewal and you will have paid $94.23 + $139.08 = $233.31 for 39 months, about $5.98 a month across the whole period. Your renewal setting matters more than the size of the discount badge.

These are USD prices before tax. NordVPN’s US grid says “Sales tax may apply,” and checkout adds tax for your location. Outside the US, NordVPN can show other currencies and plan names. We could not confirm whether the affiliate link adds a further campaign at checkout, so read the order total before you pay.

Is there a NordVPN coupon code?

No code is needed for NordVPN’s current deal. The $94.23 Basic price for 27 months applies through the offer link without one, which is why this page has no code to copy.

Coupon sites list codes of their own. A code can change more than the price: it may cover a different number of months, leave out the 3 bonus months or renew at a different yearly amount. Whatever a site calls it (coupon, promo code or discount code), judge it by the total it produces. Write down the upfront payment, the months it covers and the renewal line, then compare them with $94.23 for 27 months followed by $139.08 a year. A smaller payment for fewer months, or a higher renewal, can cost more over the time you will actually use the VPN.

If a code is already filled in at checkout, judge the resulting total rather than assuming a second code will stack. A “coupon expired” message is a reason to go back to an official offer, not to enter payment details on an unfamiliar coupon site.

NordVPN plans and prices: which term is cheapest for you

USD quotes checked 13 October 2026, before applicable tax. Currency, campaign and checkout prices can vary. Monthly rates are equivalents of upfront payments. How pricing works.

All three plans cover up to 10 devices at once. Basic is the VPN plus scam and phishing protection and Dark Web Monitor for up to 5 email addresses. Complete adds NordVPN’s next-gen antivirus, an ad and tracker blocker, the NordPass password manager, 1 TB of NordLocker cloud storage and Dark Web Monitor Pro, among other services. Prime, sold in the US, adds Coveron identity services: credit freeze assistance, identity theft insurance and cyber extortion insurance, with the insurance excluding New York residents. On NordVPN’s standard grid, the cheapest term depends on how long you will keep the VPN:

• Under 5 months: the 1-month plan at $14.99. Four months cost $59.96; five cost $74.95, more than the 1-year plan’s $65.88. NordVPN publishes no separate renewal figure for monthly plans, so this assumes the price stays the same.
• 5 to 12 months: the 1-year Basic plan, $65.88 upfront ($65.88 ÷ 12 = $5.49 a month equivalent). It renews at the same $139.08 a year as the longer plan.
• More than 12 months: the 27-month plan. It costs $28.35 more than the 1-year plan but covers 15 more months. Keeping a 1-year plan for a second year would cost $65.88 + $139.08 = $204.96 for 24 months.

The bundles cost more at renewal too. Complete is $27.00 more than Basic for the first 27 months ($121.23), but it renews at $219.48 a year, $80.40 more than Basic. Prime is $202.23 for 27 months and renews at $296.28. Pay for a bundle only if you would use its extra services. NordVPN sells no 3-year, 5-year or lifetime plan; its help center lists 2-year, 1-year and 1-month plans only. The NordVPN price guide covers the cost questions in more detail.

How to get the NordVPN deal

1. Open the NordVPN offer (affiliate link). Check that you are on NordVPN’s own site before entering account or payment details.
2. Choose the plan and term. The quoted price is Basic on the 2-year plan with 3 extra months.
3. Read the order summary: the total, the months covered and the renewal line. For this deal, NordVPN’s checkout states, “The renewal price is $139.08/year.”
4. Check add-ons and tax. Dedicated IP and Incogni are optional extras at checkout; a Dedicated IP adds $99.63 to the 27-month plan. Remove anything you don’t want, then read the new total.
5. Save the confirmation and check your renewal setting in Nord Account. NordVPN’s subscription terms say it sends a reminder 30 days before it charges the renewal of a plan longer than one month.

Student discount, free trial and Black Friday

NordVPN student discount

NordVPN’s student and employee discount page advertises “75% off in total + 3 months extra” and an “extra 15% discount” for students, graduates, teachers, healthcare professionals, first responders and military officers. Its US listing on Student Beans showed up to 79% off 2-year plans plus 3 months and up to 67% off a 1-year plan, each through a single-use code issued after student verification. UNiDAYS lists a similar 2-year offer. We could not see the price either produces at checkout, so we can’t say whether it beats $94.23, and NordVPN’s pages describe eligibility differently. NordVPN free trial

NordVPN’s support article, edited on 17 September 2026, describes a free 7-day trial for new users in 15 countries, including the United States. It needs a credit card or PayPal, and unless you cancel, it converts at “the price shown when you started the trial.” The article ties the trial to 1-year and 2-year plans and names Prime, Ultimate Max, Ultra and Complete Max; Basic is not among them. First-time Android users can get a separate 3-day trial through Google Play, though not in every country. There is no free NordVPN plan, and we did not see the US trial at checkout. NordVPN Black Friday

As of 13 October 2026, NordVPN had not announced or launched a 2026 Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal. Its Black Friday and Cyber Monday pages carried no prices, dates or terms and sent visitors to the pricing page. We won’t guess at discount percentages. Renewal and existing customers

The introductory price covers the first term only; NordVPN’s subscription terms call it the “Initial Subscription Period.” After that, 1-year and 2-year plans renew every 12 months at $139.08 for Basic, $219.48 for Complete and $296.28 for Prime, before tax, according to NordVPN’s US renewal table (last updated 10 June 2026). The renewal is charged in the currency of your first payment, and NordVPN says renewal prices may be subject to testing. We found no official renewal discount. NordVPN’s terms say price changes apply only to renewals, with advance notice. The NordVPN renewal price guide has more on renewal costs.

NordVPN gives no explicit answer on whether existing customers can buy the new-customer price. Its help center says returning customers can buy on the pricing page with their existing email “for a renewal to be added,” and buying while subscribed “will extend your current services with the additional time.” The free trial and the money-back guarantee apply to first purchases only.

To move from Basic to Complete or Prime, NordVPN’s pricing FAQ says to choose the new plan under “Manage plan” in Nord Account; the change takes effect when your current subscription expires. The new plan is paid upfront in full, and NordVPN does not state any credit for unused time. Downgrading an active subscription is not possible without first taking a refund.

Canceling and the 30-day money-back guarantee

Turning off automatic renewal and asking for a refund are separate actions. For a website purchase, go to Nord Account → Billing → Cancel → Cancel auto-renewal. Your access continues until the end of the paid period, but canceling renewal does not refund anything.

The 30-day money-back guarantee covers a first-time customer’s initial purchase, not renewals, “unless local laws require otherwise.” Purchases through Apple, Amazon or a retailer follow that seller’s refund route; for Google Play, NordVPN’s refund policy points to its own support, or to Google Play within 48 hours of payment. Is this NordVPN deal a good fit?

Basic suits a buyer who wants NordVPN’s apps across desktop, mobile and TV, will stay within 10 simultaneous connections and expects to use most of the 27 months. A router counts as one connection and covers the devices behind it. Features vary by device: NordVPN documents app split tunneling on Windows and Android and a port/subnet Allowlist on Linux, but no app splitting for Mac or iPhone. Then compare the whole bill. Surfshark Starter is $67.23 for 27 months, renews at $79.00 a year and allows unlimited devices; over 39 months it costs $87.08 less than NordVPN Basic, as NordVPN vs Surfshark shows. Common questions

Is $3.49 a monthly payment?

No. It is the $94.23 upfront payment spread over 27 months. NordVPN’s genuinely monthly Basic plan costs $14.99 and is billed every month.

Can existing customers get the new-customer price?

NordVPN doesn’t give a clear yes or no. Its offer terms describe the introductory price as one “displayed to you as a new customer,” and buying again while subscribed adds time to your current subscription. Check the price shown for your account before you pay.

Does NordVPN have a 3-year or lifetime plan?

No. On 13 October 2026, NordVPN’s pricing page and help center listed 2-year, 1-year and 1-month plans only. The longest is the 2-year plan with 3 extra months.

Is sales tax included in the price?

No. NordVPN’s US prices are shown before tax, with the note “Sales tax may apply,” and checkout adds tax for your location. Renewals are also charged plus tax.

When does this NordVPN deal end?

NordVPN gives no end date. The 3 extra months are built into its standard 2-year plans rather than labeled as a campaign, so this page has no countdown. If the price changes, NordVPN’s checkout shows the current total; compare it with the figures here.
