NordVPN dedicated IP: what it costs and what it doesn’t do

In NordVPN’s US pricing, a dedicated IP adds $99.63 to the 27-month plan, $70.68 to the 1-year plan or $8.99 to the 1-month plan; after a 27-month or 1-year term it renews at $81.48 a year. Port forwarding isn’t included.

A NordVPN dedicated IP is a paid add-on that gives your account its own IP address in a location you choose, instead of an address shared by many customers. In NordVPN’s US checkout and pricing API, checked on 13 October 2026, it costs $99.63 added to the 27-month plan, $70.68 added to the 1-year plan or $8.99 with the 1-month plan, before tax. After a 27-month or 1-year term, NordVPN’s US renewal table lists it at $81.48 a year. It doesn’t include port forwarding, and it links your email address to the IP.

What a dedicated IP is, and what it isn’t

NordVPN’s standard servers are shared; its port forwarding article says “multiple customers are using the same servers.” A dedicated IP is an address NordVPN sets up for your account in a city you pick, and NordVPN’s purchase article says that when you buy one, “your email address will be linked to that IP address.”

A dedicated IP is not:

  • Port forwarding. NordVPN says “Standard NordVPN servers and Dedicated IP do not support port forwarding.” That needs the separate Dedicated Server add-on, covered below.
  • Extra connections. You can buy several dedicated IPs for one account, “but you can’t exceed ten simultaneous connections overall.”
  • Anonymous. NordVPN’s Additional Terms say that “since it’s tied to your email address, certain online activities can be traced back to your account information.”

What it costs, with the arithmetic

These are USD amounts from NordVPN’s US checkout and pricing API, before sales tax. The add-on is billed for the same term as the plan you add it to, so the last column adds it to Basic.

Added to Add-on price Monthly equivalent First bill with Basic
2-year plan + 3 extra months (27 months) $99.63 $3.69 ($99.63 ÷ 27) $193.86 ($94.23 + $99.63)
1-year plan $70.68 $5.89 ($70.68 ÷ 12) $136.56 ($65.88 + $70.68)
1-month plan $8.99 $8.99 $23.98 ($14.99 + $8.99)

On the 27-month term, Basic with a dedicated IP comes to $193.86, a monthly equivalent of $7.18 ($193.86 ÷ 27). The renewal table lists the dedicated IP at $81.48 a year and Basic at $139.08, so if both renew at those quoted amounts, the following year costs $220.56 ($139.08 + $81.48) before tax.

Three caveats sit beside those figures:

  • NordVPN’s pricing API showed the same add-on prices with Basic, Complete and Prime, but check the line item at checkout. The 1-month price came from the pricing API only, which listed no renewal amount for it.
  • The renewal amount has a conflict. NordVPN’s pricing API showed $70.68 as the dedicated IP renewal next to Prime, while the legal renewal table says $81.48. We use the renewal table, the more specific source.
  • NordVPN says dedicated IPs bought with a coupon don’t renew automatically.

How to add one, and how long setup takes

New customers add the dedicated IP at checkout, under the optional services; NordVPN’s plan grid marks it “Add at checkout” on every plan, and you can open the NordVPN offer (affiliate link) to see it there. Existing customers can buy one through Nord Account (“get dedicated IP”) or from the Windows or macOS app. We couldn’t see the price NordVPN charges existing customers, so check it in your account before paying.

Setup isn’t instant. NordVPN’s purchase article says: “It may take up to three business days to set up your dedicated IP address after you choose your server location.” To connect, NordVPN says to use the NordLynx or OpenVPN (TCP or UDP) protocol.

Locations

By our count, NordVPN’s dedicated IP page lists 30 countries and territories and 46 cities. The US cities are Ashburn, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Seattle. Check the full list there if you need a particular country.

Devices, protocols and platforms

  • Several devices need OpenVPN. NordVPN says “you can use the same dedicated IP on up to 10 devices at once if you connect via OpenVPN (TCP or UDP).” With NordLynx, “that limits you to one device at a time.”
  • The account limit still applies. Dedicated IP connections share the account’s 10 simultaneous connections; see how many devices can use NordVPN.
  • No Apple TV or IKEv2. NordVPN says the feature isn’t available on tvOS or with the IKEv2 protocol.
  • Browser extensions are unclear. The feature page says dedicated IPs “aren’t available on tvOS, browser extensions, or with the IKEv2 protocol,” but NordVPN’s setup article, edited on 3 July 2026, links to instructions for connecting to a dedicated IP on the browser extensions. We can’t tell which is current, so ask NordVPN support if you need it in a browser.
  • No post-quantum encryption or NordWhisper. Post-quantum encryption works with NordLynx only and is disabled when you use a dedicated IP, and NordWhisper isn’t compatible with dedicated IPs.

Dedicated Server: the add-on with port forwarding

In April 2026, NordVPN added a separate add-on. It describes the Dedicated Server as “your own virtual VPN server with dedicated resources, a static IP address, and port forwarding capability.”

Dedicated IP Dedicated Server
What you get Your own IP address on NordVPN’s servers A virtual VPN server with dedicated resources and a static IP address
Port forwarding No Yes, except in the macOS App Store version for now
Locations 30 countries and territories, 46 cities Paris, Berlin, London, Phoenix and Boston
US price in our evidence $99.63, $70.68 or $8.99 by term; renews at $81.48 a year after the 27-month or 1-year term Not recorded; check Nord Account or checkout
Linked to your account Your email address “your email, IP address, and information related to your account”

If port forwarding is why you’re looking, a dedicated IP won’t provide it. Our NordVPN torrenting guide covers port forwarding and P2P in more detail.

What we couldn’t confirm

We couldn’t confirm the price for existing customers, the Dedicated Server’s price or browser extension support, and we haven’t tested a dedicated IP’s speed or how particular websites respond to it.

Weigh the bill and the trade-offs together: on the 27-month term, a dedicated IP more than doubles the Basic bill, ties an address to your email, and switches off post-quantum encryption. For what else NordVPN links to your account, see is NordVPN safe?

NordVPN Basic: $94.23 today for 27 months, then $139.08 every year.

Common questions

How much does a NordVPN dedicated IP cost?

In NordVPN’s US checkout and pricing API on 13 October 2026, it was $99.63 added to the 27-month plan, $70.68 added to the 1-year plan or $8.99 with the 1-month plan, all before tax. NordVPN’s US renewal table lists it at $81.48 a year after a 27-month or 1-year first term.

Can I use one dedicated IP on several devices?

Yes, on up to 10 devices at once over OpenVPN (TCP or UDP), according to NordVPN. With NordLynx it’s one device at a time, and the account’s 10 simultaneous connections still apply.

Does a NordVPN dedicated IP include port forwarding?

No. NordVPN says neither standard servers nor a dedicated IP support port forwarding. It’s available only with the separate Dedicated Server add-on.

Can I add a dedicated IP to an existing NordVPN plan?

Yes. NordVPN says existing users can buy one through Nord Account or the Windows or macOS app. We couldn’t see the price on that route, so check it in your account before paying.
